We don't serve God by going to church. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger.

I want to tell you what the Church is really about:

The Church is not a building or a service. The Church is you and I. I cannot be the church on my own, and neither can you - but when we come together, then we are the church. In other words, when disciples of Jesus Christ come together in unity - that's the church.

So it’s more of being the Church than 'going' to church.

The Bible describes it as a body; in fact it says that we are the Body of Christ. And we are different parts in that body. You see Jesus is still doing something here on earth - but he’s using us as His Body to do it.

We are His hands and feet.

And so the Church (God's people) is the most important group of people on the face of the planet. Christ in us is the hope of the World, and God has chosen to work exclusively through His Church.

Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And LET US NOT NEGLECT OUR MEETING TOGETHER, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."

If you're church isn't providing you with a place where you can have real fellowship, be discipled, and grow in God - then maybe you should consider joining with a church that will.

Hope this helps,

Adrian
